“The Old Man” (wooden table-top rod puppet). Puppet made by Kay Yasugi.

Last December, Pupperoos teamed up with talented muso Pappy (Stephanie Papapavlou) for a night of puppetry and music. The audience enjoyed watching a story unfold about an old man who goes in search of treasure, while sitting back and listening to a variety of Pappy’s beautiful songs. At the end of the show, we invited the audience to write feedback on our giant brown paper wall. It was really touching to read all the positive and encouraging words they left us. One person said our show was  “deep, insightful and sweet” and it “made them smile“. Another person took the time to write this: “Tonight was not only a night of songs and puppets, but it was a night of journeying, and tonight’s journey was an exceptional one J Thank you so much for bringing us the wonders and journey of life, whether they are good or bad. Exceptional songs and great puppetry. A great life journey. Thank you!” The  night was a fundraiser for Globalteer’s “Cambodia Kids Project”. Kay Yasugi from Pupperoos will be volunteering in Siem Reap, Cambodia to help run the Giant Puppet Parade project in February 2011. Thank you to all the people who came to this event and helped to support such a great cause. Check out some of our photos below:
