Apart from puppetry, Pupperoos also enjoys dabbling in the worlds of illustration and handmade crafts (namely creating woollen miniatures using a technique called “needle felting”). Please see the albums below to view some samples by Kay Yasugi.

Needle Felting

These are woollen pet miniatures made using a technique called “needle felting”. Each piece is hand-crafted using a felting needle and raw wool roving. The barbed needle can sculpt each piece by poking the wool many times until the fibres become entangled and felt together. The process can take several hours to complete. The figures are created on small wire armatures to make them slightly posable.
