Kay Yasugi with “Chee-Chee the Cheeky Monkey” on FM99.3 “The Long Way Home” with Jane Arakawa
On September 2nd 2010, Kay Yasugi from Pupperoos went ‘on air’ for “The Long Way Home” with Jane Arakawa on FM 99.3. She visited this community radio station to promote her upcoming show, “The Whirlwind”, which she will be performing on 27th November at Wentworth Galleries in Sydney. She brought along with her some of the puppets from her show, as well as “Chee-Chee the Cheeky Monkey” (who was thrilled to talk to Jane about the places she has performed at and her aspirations to meet Elmo). To listen to the interview, please view the Youtube clip below.
“The Whirlwind” will be performed on Saturday 27th November 2010 at Wentworth Galleries, Sydney. Tickets are $20 and the proceeds will go towards funding the “Cambodia Kids Project” run by Globalteer (a UK-based charity). Kay will be travelling to Siem Reap in February 2011 to help run the “Giant Puppet Parade” project, where children in the community are invited to help build large parade puppets and star in their very own parade.
