Snow on a Summer's Day is an intimate new puppetry work created and performed by mother and daughter Youngkyu (Yong) Kwon and Kay Yasugi, receiving its world premiere at the Melbourne Festival of Puppetry, 2026. Drawing on Yong's bilingual essays — written in Korean and English, with stories stretching from Korea to Japan to Australia — the work weaves together memory, paper and puppetry. A mother sets down her stories so they won't disappear. A daughter brings them to life.
